Fernweh for Nadine & Danielle

GOPR0372

Arrival at Seyđisfjördur, Iceland

We are Nadine and Danielle, two architects in the early 30es that decided to quit job, apartment and standard live in Hamburg to travel around the world.

Nadine is spanish – german, grew up in Barcelona and moved to Germany in 2013 to work as an architect in a 9-18 office job. She is a passionate reader, languages collector, dance and bike lover and nature fascinated, although she has a lazy soul. She is discovering her love for photography (difficult not to, in Iceland!). His biggest love is to travel, and one of the happiest days of her life was when she discovered the german word fernweh and could finally give a name to her desease. She dreams on traveling around the world since she was 8.

Danielle grew up on the countryside in the middle part of Germany. After school she moved to the north to study architecture in Oldenburg. Beside modern architecture she is very interested in music, photography and design, but her greatest pleasure is cooking and baking. She dreams about having one day a tiny cafe where she can cook and bake whatever she wants and make the customers happy every day. Her project for the world trip is collecting recipies from all over the world and write a cookingbook after. After being in Iceland for two weeks she felt that she is not happy with this life, dont want to spend her whole life in front of a computer. And hates city life. So it was not that dificult to decide to join Nadine.

We met the day Nadine moved to Germany, searching apartment, and since then we have lived together. After our first trip to Iceland last year we decided to make the BIG TRIP together.

Thanks to all the nice people we met…

… and spend great moments together
